Position Title: Postdoctoral Associate in Economics

Description:
The Center for Private Tutoring Policies at the Chung-Ang University Economic Research Institute invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Associate position funded by the Korea Research Foundation. We seek candidates with strong training in empirical methods, particularly in labor or public economics, although applicants from all fields of economics are encouraged to apply.

The Postdoctoral Associate will collaborate on ongoing empirical research projects with Professors Changhui Kang, Sun Go, and Hoon Choi, and will also contribute to related administrative tasks. The position provides substantial time for independent research and is particularly suitable for recent Ph.D. recipients seeking a research-oriented appointment. There is no teaching requirement; however, optional teaching opportunities may be available with additional compensation.

Duration and Compensation:
The initial appointment is for one year, beginning in September 2026 or earlier, with the possibility of annual renewal through August 2029. The annual salary is 42 million KRW (inclusive of taxes, social insurance contributions, and retirement benefits).

Qualifications:
Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in economics or a closely related field by the start date. While the Center’s primary research areas include labor economics, public economics, and econometrics, candidates from all areas of economics are welcome. Proficiency in Korean is required.
