Postdoctoral Position in Economics
Petra Persson (Stanford and IFN, Stockholm) and Maya Rossin-Slater (Stanford) are hiring for a 2-year postdoctoral position, beginning no later than September 2026, to work on a research project in collaboration with the Public Health Agency of Sweden (Folkhälsomyndigheten). The postdoc will be hired by the Research Institute of Industrial Economics (IFN) in Stockholm. The postdoc can be based in Stockholm or choose to work remotely from a location in the EU, the UK, or Switzerland.
Research and Responsibilities
The postdoc will work with unique Swedish administrative registry data to conduct independent high-quality research in collaboration with Professors Persson and Rossin-Slater and other members of the research team. Tasks include initiating and running projects, collaborating with other team members, and contributing to a collaborative and supportive environment. No teaching duties are included in this position.
Position Details
The position is a full-time appointment for 24 months with direct mentorship from Professors Persson and Rossin-Slater. Starting date is September 1, 2026, or by mutual agreement.
Required qualifications
Candidates should have a PhD in Economics, Health Economics, or equivalent field and must have completed their PhD by September 2026 (candidates who completed their PhD within the past three years are particularly encouraged to apply). Experience analyzing large datasets using modern econometric methods is a requirement. Candidates must demonstrate excellence in research and fluency in English (written and spoken).
Preferred qualifications
- Research background or expertise in health economics
- Swedish language proficiency (not required but helpful)
